SideWalker Privacy Policy

The short version: we don't collect your data. SideWalker's business model is selling good software, not information about the people who use it.

The SideWalker app

• All data stays on your device. Clients, dogs, walks, photos, schedules, and earnings are stored in the app's private on-device database. We operate no servers and hold no copy of your data.
• No accounts. The app never asks you to register, sign in, or provide an email address.
• No analytics, no ads, no tracking. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs and makes no network calls to us. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
• Permissions are optional and just-in-time. Calendar access only if you enable calendar sync; Photos only when you attach photos; Notifications only for walk reminders you schedule. Decline any of them and keep using the app.
• Payments happen outside the app. SideWalker composes payment requests (Venmo links, Apple Cash messages) on your device; it never processes, holds, or sees money.
• In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive Apple's standard anonymized reports — never your name or payment details.
• Sharing is always your choice. Report cards and payment requests leave the app only when you tap Share, to recipients you pick.

Children and teens

SideWalker is designed for teenagers and adult casual walkers — teens are who it's built around, but there's no upper age limit. For privacy purposes, the app is intended for users 13 and older. It is not designed or intended for children under 13, it is not offered in the App Store's Kids Category, and we ask that children under 13 not use it.

We collect no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is no account to create, no registration, no email address requested, and nothing transmitted to us — so there is nothing for us to hold, sell, lose, or hand over about a child or a teen. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable children's privacy laws. Because we operate no servers and collect nothing, compliance here mostly means there is nothing to collect in the first place.

What a young walker types in, and where it goes

A walker enters client names, dogs, notes, and sometimes photos. All of it stays in the app's private database on that phone, and none of it reaches us at any point.

The app can send information outward — a report card or a payment request — but only when the user taps Share, and only to a recipient they choose. That handoff goes through iOS and whichever app they pick (Messages, Venmo, Apple Cash, PayPal), and is then covered by that service's own privacy policy rather than ours.

For parents and guardians

If you're deciding whether to let your teen use SideWalker:

• There's no account, so there's nothing to sign your child up for and no password to leak.
• Nothing your child enters is transmitted to us, ever.
• You can see everything the app holds by opening it on your child's phone — there's no hidden copy elsewhere.
• To erase it, delete individual records in the app, or delete the app itself, which removes its database from the device.
• Because we hold no data about your child, an access or deletion request sent to us would turn up nothing. If you'd like that confirmed in writing, email us and we'll put it in writing.

This website

sidewalker.app uses no cookies, analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts. Our web host keeps standard short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for security; we do not use them to identify or profile visitors.

Email

If you email support@sidewalker.app, we keep the correspondence to help you and delete it when no longer needed. No mailing lists.

Changes

If our practices ever change, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes to app privacy would also appear in App Store release notes.
